As someone who has never felt like I fit in, this has become my favorite quality of myself. I love getting to know different groups of people and how to be the best version of myself with their influence. My character is a collection of all the wonderful people I’ve met the past 30 something years.
I am going to start saying this, “ Being alive is my special occasion.” I love it! Thanks, Lydia! I am a 68 year old woman who loves dressing nicely. I just can’t understand why so many women my age get dressed up for church, weddings, funerals, and the odd party invitation. Yet, other than that, they walk around in sweat suits!!! Ugh!!

Omg I have felt I haven't fitted in my friendship groups, from being a young child throughout adulthood. I am now 61 and still full of insecurities even though people think I am uber confident when in fact I am the total opposite.
Some of us are not meant to " fit in" but to enjoy our own journey, please don"t be insecure, embrace your uniqueness..❤

I am almost 75 and so enjoy every one of your videos! I even bought your color nail polish just so I would feel young like you ‼️ I am so impressed that someone is finally making some kind of makeup for more mature women my age in their '60s and '70s The makeups all cake in our frankly wrinkles nothing is made for older women we have to adjust everything I've been trying to help any woman I can with any little bit of knowledge that I might still retain at my age lol‼️ was a professional makeup artist but there is so little for us we are neglected ‼️‼️ Thank you so much for this wonderful video❤

The 'alien' feeling really struck a chord. Tears stung my eyes as soon as you said it! Fitting in completely, loving people, good at friendship but knowing deep down you're alone/different. Thought it was just me! I'm also a strong empath, and one of the rarer types on the Myer-Briggs personality test, maybe that's a factor. Thank you for sharing - from one Sholphin to another haha!

Lydia this video/vlog perfectly encapsulates who you are: creative, articulate and hardworking. I’m always impressed with your ability to stay ahead of trends , you are “sui generis” . Which means , of its own kind. A loyal fan from the finger lakes in upstate New York.
Regarding the poor treatment of people online... Lydia I completely agree with you and I do think it is very worrying. I don't understand why people feel so entitled to crucify people in the way they do, its like people are deliberately looking for people to make a mistake, then they make up their minds that said person needs berating, cover their ears and shout 'la la la - I'm not listening" to anyone who offers an alternative way at looking at whatever the issue is. And they don't do it because they want to challenge the person's belief to ultimately bring them round to their way of thinking - they just do it for the satisfaction of being seen to have the moral high ground. That is why people don't seem to just discuss things anymore - because they just want to be seen to be in the right, and they make sweeping and damning judgements based on minimal, wafer thin and two dimensional comments/actions that are often taken out of context.
Even the people I have most disliked in my life, I wouldn't wish this sort of thing on them... and its a very sad and sorry person to have such vindictive thoughts that would drive these behaviours.
Personally, I have always thought that you catch more flies with honey than vinegar. Unfortunately though, there are may people in the world who are just naturally more antagonistic than others... and other more gentle souls... you are one of the latter Lydia, it is so important to have people like yourself here on the internet. Thank you! xxxx

I have always struggled with not fitting in but that being said I have learned to accept that about myself and love myself. However, when I exercise those strengths I get shut down or left out cause people don’t understand me. I struggle every day with this feeling. I would love a friend like you who is confident self assured but also humble. However someone who knows there style and desires and doesn’t apologise for who they are. Lydia, this feeling of not belonging totally resonates with me. While I have a great group of friends and even various circles of friends, I don't always feel like I 100% fit in with the others or can fully be myself. I can completely adapt in any scenario and with any personality because that's what Libra's do. But sometimes I feel like I'm just sort of entertaining whatever conversation we're in at the moment and can literally feel the moment where I'm over the conversation but they don't know me well enough to stop. lol Why am I like this?

If you were to work and scrunch good flexible gel through your hair, roots to tip and dry it completely with a diffuser, you wouldn't believe how amazing your curls will actually look. It's not a direct heat, but rather diffused air (as if you're sitting under the drying hood in the salon), it's much more merciful to your hair. You must try it one day! 🥰

I've always been the black sheep but I came to peace with that many years ago. Acceptance is powerful and there is nothing wrong with being the odd one, when embraced in the right light ❤

I saw my kinesiologist yesterday and we talked about how I don’t feel I fit in .. that’s so interesting. I also have been told that saying and it made sense. I went on a yoga retreat in Bali last week and hated it … I now realise I don’t need to go on retreats

I have always felt the odd one out too but I always refer to the deer and tiger comparison. I dont know what part of England you live or when you filmed this video Lydia but I dont recall anywhere in the UK over the past five weeks that anyone found it cold enough to A light a fire or B turn the heating on 🤔
Well I’m in the UK and ours is an old house and yes, we HAVE had the heating on as it was quite cold in the evenings.

You may want to rethink letting the chickens free range during the day. They will poop all over your beautiful deck/out door kitchen and seating. Also they will likely help themselves to your kitchen garden and dig holes in your beds. I TRY to keep my chickens in their designated location but even with a fence some of them get into trouble. Last week they ate half of the broccoli and cabbage I had just planted. The poop everywhere is my bigger issue though-yuck!

Gosh the 🐬 analogy hit hard. I’ve never quite fit in either and, as a 37yo woman without kids, it’s become even harder to find friends - no play dates, no chatter about kids at dinner parties to fill the silence. Fortunately, I have a great husband and lots of hobbies so I can’t say that I feel lonely but I am often envious of the girls who have a good pack to travel and unwind with.
FYI. My chickens were free range and they kept pooping on the patio and the patio furniture. If this happens to you I would love to see how you keep them off. Thanks

Lip blush is more for when not wearing make up/wearing minimal make up and looking more put together. x
